Jamie Godwin
After graduating from North Carolina State University in 2001 with a BS in Mechanical Engineering, Jamie Godwin started working as a project engineer. For five years Jamie was involved in large civil and environmental projects ranging from 100k to over 40 million dollars.
Jamie obtained his General Contractor’s License in 2002. As his passion grew for homebuilding, he left his project engineer position to pursue his homebuilding career.
Over the next 13 years, he grew his construction experience while working for large regional builders in positions from Project Manager to Senior Vice President of Operations. During this time, he oversaw the construction of over 4,000 homes throughout North and South Carolina. Jamie was selected nationally by Professional Builder Magazine as one of the top 40 under 40 “Home Building’s Young Leaders” in 2014.
Jamie and his wife, Suzanne, have one son Jaxson, and they reside in Four Oaks, North Carolina.
One of Jamie’s proudest accomplishments is his military career and the lessons he has learned from it. Jamie enlisted in the North Carolina Army National Guard in 1995 and was commissioned as an officer in 1999. After 29 years, he is still serving at the rank of Colonel. He deployed twice as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom (2004 and 2009) and commanded the 1-120th Infantry Regiment, 30th Armored Brigade Combat Team 2016-2018. Jamie is currently Commander of the 578th Forward Engineer Support Team – Main (FEST-M) in Charlotte, North Carolina.
